Our projects
Tweed Valley Community Collective (TVCC) is embarking on an exciting and ambitious project—acquiring land on Cleland Avenue, next to Victoria Park in Peebles, to build a much-needed community facility. This will be a welcoming space designed to serve both local residents and visitors, offering opportunities for learning, social connection, and recreation.
We envision a facility that provides flexible spaces for community-led activities, workshops, and essential services. It could support skills development in areas like digital literacy, environmental conservation, arts, and vocational training. It may also serve as a base for local groups, offering meeting spaces, social events, and accessible recreational opportunities. Additionally, we see the potential for a shared café or social space where people can come together in a relaxed and inclusive setting.
This is our first major project, and we know how vital it is to create a communal space on this side of the river—a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can gather, connect, and participate in activities that enhance well-being and community life. While we are still developing the concept for the building and its facilities, we recognise that this space must reflect the needs and aspirations of those who will use it.
That’s why we need your input. We are calling on the local community to share their ideas, priorities, and feedback to help shape this project. Your voice is essential in making this vision a reality. Together, we can create a space that brings lasting benefits to Peebles and the surrounding area.
If you have thoughts or suggestions, we’d love to hear from you—get in touch and be part of shaping the future of this new community space.
